The Jacksonville Jaguars will pick up the fifth-year option for quarterback Trevor Lawrence and running back Travis Etienne, general manager Trent Baalke shared during the team’s post-draft press conference.
“Before I do that, I’m going to look to have a beer,” Baalke quipped. “I’m joking. Yes.”
The Jaguars selected Lawrence and Etienne in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft (picks no. 1 and 25, respectively). With their options now picked up, the former Clemson teammates are now under contract through 2025.
Lawrence is projected to earn $25.7 million that season, per Over The Cap; Etienne is projected to earn $6.
