As John Oehser of Jaguars.com wrote, players on the Jaguars roster clearly wanted to play for head coach Doug Marrone and made their feelings known before team owner Shad Khan decided to bring him back for another season.
While the passion the players showed for their leader was admirable and genuine, the men in the locker room must now do something for the man they wanted around next season – win more football games and play more consistent football.
It was part of a mantra that the local media heard almost on a weekly basis, how Marrone needed to do a better job of preparing his troops for games and keeping the coaching staff accountable for their work.
