JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — When kicker Josh Scobee was traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers prior to this past regular season, tight end Marcedes Lewis became the Jacksonville Jaguars elder statesman.
While he took a pay cut, was forced into a new role, and caught his fewest passes since his rookie season, his teammates and coaches have sung his praises. The 10-years veteran and former first round pick out of UCLA has been through it all with the Jaguars and his peers hope he'll continue to battle with them on Sundays for years to come.
"He's been huge," said quarterback Blake Bortles on Monday.
