Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell had a brilliant first round on Thursday.
Not only did he acquire arguably the draft’s top defender with the fifth-overall pick in Florida State cornerback Jalen Ramsey, but he then did something nearly as valuable.
He showed restraint in not moving up to get back into the first round. The price tag would've likley cost the Jaguars this year's third and fourth-round choice or a 2017 second-rounder to move into the mid-20s.
The Jaguars enter Friday’s second round with the 38th-overall choice. They will have to wait out six picks before they are on the clock.
