Upon arriving in Jacksonville for rookie orientation weekend, sixth-round draft picks Tyrone Holmes and Brandon Allen signed four-year contracts with the team Thursday.
Per www.overthecap.com, Holmes, a defensive end/linebacker from Montana, will have a salary cap number of $496,922 this year. Allen, a quarterback from Arkansas, will count $481,068 on the cap.
The May 5 signing date for a draft pick is the earliest for general manager Dave Caldwell. The first-sign dates in 2013-15 were May 19, 20 and 12, respectively. The Jaguars could be moving quickly to sign their picks like last year, when six were under contract by the end of May.
