Jaguars sign rookie defensive end Camaron Beard

The Jaguars made their first roster moves of camp today, signing defensive end Camaron Beard and waiving injured linebacker Matt Robinson.

Robinson missed this morning’s practice with a hamstring injury.

Beard, 23, was undrafted out of the University of Cincinnati and spent the summer with the Indianapolis Colts. He signed with the Colts after participating in rookie camp as a tryout player.

Beard is listed as 6-foot-5 and 290 pounds and a defensive end, which would make him a strong-side end in the Jaguars’ scheme.

Starting end Jared Odrick (knee) has been held out of practice twice in the last week and back-up end Tyson Alualu is splitting time between end and defensive tackle.
