JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Jaguars have added some insurance to their offensive backfield.
With starting running back T.J. Yeldon ailing from a knee injury, the team signed veteran Jonas Gray.
Gray is a second-year running back who spent part of this season with the Miami Dolphins after being waived by the New England Patriots during final cuts.
The 5-foot-10, 225-pound back gained notoriety for his eight games (three starts) in New England last season. He produced 412 rushing yards and five touchdowns while with the Patriots.
Gray will join a running back group that includes Yeldon, Denard Robinson and Joe Banyard.
