JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Jaguars have made a move to add veteran depth to their linebacker group.
The team signed former Cleveland Browns linebacker James-Michael Johnson on Monday.
Johnson spent the 2012 season with Cleveland, appearing in 10 games as a rookie and collecting 32 tackles. Johnson was waived by Cleveland prior to the start of the 2013 season and claimed by Kansas City.
Johnson spent two seasons with Kansas City and appeared in all 16 games both seasons. Kansas City waived Johnson during final cuts this offseason.
With middle linebacker Paul Posluszny (high ankle sprain) and outside linebacker John Lotulelei (concussion) suffering injuries in Sunday's loss to the Indianapolis Colts, the move will fill a clear need.
