The Jaguars officially put right guard Brandon Linder (shoulder) on the season-ending injured reserve list late today and signed linebacker James-Michael Johnson to take his roster spot.
Johnson was among at least three players who worked out for the Jaguars earlier today.
The Jaguars need linebacker depth because Paul Posluszny sustained a high ankle sprain and John Lotulelei a concussion in Sunday’s loss to Indianapolis. That left only three healthy linebackers: Dan Skuta, Telvin Smith and Thurston Armbrister.
Johnson (6-1, 240) has appeared in 43 regular season games with Cleveland (2012), Kansas City (2013-14) and Tampa Bay (this year).
