Jaguars sign cornerback Josh Johnson

The Jaguars added depth to their secondary on Friday, announcing the signing of cornerback Josh Johnson to the 90-man roster.

The former Purdue standout was undrafted in 2013 and spent the following preseason with San Diego, making four tackles before being released. He has never played in a regular-season NFL game.

Johnson, a native of Dade City, last played in the CFL for the British Columbia Lions. The 25-year-old Johnson made 100 tackles with three interceptions in 34 games.

The 5-foot-9, 199-pound Johnson was invited to the NFL Scouting Combine and ran a 4.65-second time in the 40-yard dash.
