JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Jacksonville Jaguars rookie safety James Sample will miss the rest of the team's offseason program because of a broken arm.
A fourth-round draft pick from Louisville, Sample broke his right arm Thursday while trying to strip the ball from a teammate during non-contact drills. The Jaguars said he had surgery Friday and is expected to return during training camp in August.
Sample is Jacksonville's second rookie injured in the opening month of on-field work. First-round pick Dante Fowler Jr. tore a knee ligament in rookie camp last month and will miss the season.
