Curtis Dvorak, the wildly popular – and only – mascot in Jaguars history famous for repelling from the light towers onto the field before kickoff, will not return as Jaxson DeVille this year. Dvorak and the franchise are terming his departure as a “retirement.”
Dvorak was the Jaguars’ mascot for the last 19 seasons, a regular not only at home games but at community events throughout the region.
The Jaguars released statements on Dvorak’s departure.
President Mark Lamping: “Curtis has clearly been a valued and important part of the Jaguars family and key to our fan engagement efforts and our game-day environment.
