Jaguars' recent defensive line success offers blueprint against Saints

Jaguars defensive end Jared Odrick didn’t need to recall film sessions or meetings with coaches during the previous week to recognize what to do when Atlanta left tackle Jake Matthews took aim at his knees during the third quarter Sunday.

He understood what was coming, let his instincts take over and made a play when his team desperately needed one.

With the Falcons leading 17-10 during their opening drive of the second half, Matthews attempted to take down Odrick with a cut block while quarterback Matt Ryan looked left for running back Devonta Freeman.

After fighting through the block, Odrick regained his balance, located where Ryan was targeting and deflected the pass into the air.
