JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Jaguars have re-signed tight end Connor Hamlett.
The rookie was officially waived on Monday but went unclaimed on Tuesday afternoon.
Following the news of Julius Thomas needing finger surgery, the team clearly needed tight end depth for the final exhibition game.
Hamlett and fellow rookie tight end Ben Koyack will likely be featured heavily during Thursday's preseason finale.
Hamlett has appeared in all three of the Jaguars preseason games thus far and has caught five passes for 45 yards.
The Jaguars roster is now at 75. The team will need to be down to 53 players by Saturday afternoon.
