Max Wittek will be playing uphill this off-season for myriad reasons: He was undrafted last week before signing with the Jaguars. The first two quarterback spots are locked in with Blake Bortles and Chad Henne. The Jaguars have kept only two quarterbacks on the active roster the last two years. And Brandon Allen is a draft pick.
But the biggest obstacle for Wittek: He hasn’t played a lot of football.
In a career that started at USC and finished at Hawaii, Wittek threw only 366 passes. Compare that to fellow rookie Allen’s 1,016 with Arkansas, and 891 for Bortles at Central Florida and 1,387 for Henne at Michigan.
