The Jaguars are hurting at running back this week.
Starter T.J. Yeldon's status is uncertain. The rookie missed Sunday's 31-20 loss to Houston with a groin injury.
The Jaguars are also down Bernard Pierce (concussion) and Corey Grant, put on injured reserve on Tuesday with a hip injury.
To build some depth behind Denard Robinson and Toby Gerhart, the Jaguars promoted Joe Banyard to the active roster on Wednesday.
Banyard played in 18 games with the Minnesota Vikings, rushing 21 times for 88 yards with nine catches for 62 yards.
Banyard signed with the Jaguars in 2012 as an undrafted free agent.
