JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Jaguars made a move on Friday to repair their defensive line depth.
The team placed defensive tackle Abry Jones on injured reserve and called up defensive lineman Richard Ash from the practice squad.
Jones had put together an impressive season as the backup nose tackle. In 15 games, Jones produced 17 tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble.
Ash initially signed with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent this offseason. The Western Michigan product was waived during final cuts and has been on the Jacksonville practice squad all season.
While a knee injury will end Jones' third season prematurely, he is thrilled that Ash is getting an opportunity.
