What happened in the wild scrum after Allen Hurns fumbled in the second period of the Jaguars-Panthers game Sunday is likely to remain a mystery.
Hurns and Panthers cornerback Josh Norman, who caused the fumble by knocking the ball out and was given credit for the recovery, had different versions.
Norman said after the game he gouged Hurns’ eyes during the fight for the ball, but Hurns said Wednesday he didn’t.
“He didn’t gouge my eyes,’’ Hurns said. “I had a shield on.’’
But Hurns agreed with Norman that he came up with the ball even though the officials awarded Carolina possession.
