Tough break: Benn on IR
Wide receiver Arrelious Benn tried to be optimistic in the Jaguars locker room Monday as he talked about his broken collarbone and the fact he is scheduled to undergo surgery on Tuesday.
“This is a paper cut compared to the type of injuries [two torn ACLs] that I’ve had before,’’ Benn said. “It is what it is. I’ll bounce back from it.’’
Hours later, he got the news that he won’t be able to bounce back this season. The Jaguars placed him on injured reserve, meaning Benn will miss a third consecutive regular season after playing in just eight games in 2012.
