New Jaguars punter Brad Nortman likes to think the team acquired more than a specialist by signing him Thursday. He says he will bring another athlete to the locker room.
“I didn’t just punt in high school; I played linebacker and tight end,” Nortman said with a wry smile during his introductory press conference inside EverBank Field. “Believe it or not, I was the conference defensive player of the year in high school so there’s some athleticism there.”
Interesting fact, but the Jaguars are only concerned about how consistently he can flip the field and pin opponents deep inside their territory.
