Jaguars Notebook: Team not close to signing LT Beatty, Bradley says

Bradley: Not close to adding Beatty

The Jaguars hosted free agent left tackle Will Beatty for a workout Friday, but coach Gus Bradley said after Sunday’s practice it shouldn’t be viewed as a sign presumptive starter Kelvin Beachum is struggling with his surgically repaired knee.

Beatty started 63 games (mostly at left tackle) in six years with the New York Giants but missed 2015 with a torn chest muscle.

Bradley said the Jaguars weren’t close to signing Beatty.

“He did a nice job,” Bradley said of Beatty’s workout. “I’m sure there is a lot of speculation with what’s going on, but we have two [offensive tackles] out, and we’re always going to compete and always bring guys in and just keep our options open.
