The NFL verdict on Jason Myers when he finished his career as a kicker at Marist in 2012 was unanimous: He didn’t have the potential to be an NFL kicker.
No team in the league was willing to give Myers a chance. He was out of football in 2013 and kicked in the Arena Football League in 2014.
The reasons for the NFL snub were obvious. Myers made 24-of-36 field goal attempts for a 63.2 percentage in college and made three of nine attempts from 40 to 49 yards. His longest in college was 49 yards.
