Jaguars notebook: Greg Jones hired, Dante Fowler playing faster

A coaching intern last year for the Jaguars, former fullback Greg Jones was hired Monday as a scouting associate.

Jones was one of two additions and six football operations promotions announced by the Jaguars.

Jones, 35, played at Florida State and was a second-round pick by the Jaguars in 2004.

He played nine years for the team (115 games, 911 rushing yards and 13 total touchdowns) and completed his career with Houston in 2013.

Jones has lived in the Jacksonville area since his retirement in January 2015 and will be headquartered at EverBank Field and charged with supporting the Jaguars’ seven area college scouts.
