Jaguars middle linebacker Paul Posluszny, who played in just seven games last year because he missed the last nine games with a torn pectoral muscle, maintains the respect of his teammates.
For the fourth consecutive year, Posluszny was named the team’s defensive captain, coach Gus Bradley said Monday. Quarterback Blake Bortles and tight end Marcedes Lewis were named offensive captains and punter Bryan Anger was named special teams captain.
“It’s an honor,’’ Posluszny said. “It’s very special because you know your teammates support you and they believe in you.’’
The captains are named by a vote of the players and Bradley said more players got votes than in past seasons.
