One of the points of emphasis for the Jaguars during the offseason has been to create more turnovers.
Last year, they were minus six in turnover ratio, which ranked 25th in the league. They caused 20 turnovers, but gave up 26.
That is why the Jaguars worked in the offseason in practice on trying to strip the runners for fumbles and breaking on the ball to try to get interceptions.
But it was the same old story in the first preseason game against Pittsburgh last Friday night. They had no turnovers. They couldn’t pick off even one of the 46 throws by backup quarterback Landry Jones.
