Three weeks ahead of the regular season, Jaguars defensive end Dante Fowler has been delivered his first NFL wake-up call.
On Wednesday-Thursday, during the Jaguars’ joint practices with Tampa Bay, Fowler was stood up more than once by Buccaneers right tackle/giant Demar Dotson in one-on-one drills. Fowler’s frustration bubbled over when he was ejected from Thursday’s practice.
In Saturday’s 27-21 loss to the Buccaneers, Fowler played 14 snaps and had only one “factor” play.
But coach Gus Bradley said the week was “great,” for Fowler’s development, “to realize you know what to study [about] the tackles and understanding their strengths and weaknesses.
