Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell said this morning the team hasn’t closed the door on signing free agent defensive end Greg Hardy, but nothing is upcoming.
Hardy visited Jacksonville last Wednesday and Thursday. He met with Caldwell and coach Gus Bradley and defensive coordinator Todd Wash among others. The visit included an on-field workout. It was the first reported visit for Hardy since he became a free agent in March, when Dallas opted not to re-sign him.
“It was an opportunity for us,” Caldwell said. “Here was a guy who was a franchise defensive end that was on the street and we tried to find out the facts of where he’s at, the truth behind him and everything that surrounds him and just do our homework.
