Jaguars 'drop the ball' in the redzone in 31-25 loss to the Chargers

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — After two-straight wins, the Jacksonville Jaguars came up short against the San Diego Chargers at home on Sunday.

The 31-25 loss was aided by the Jaguars inability to score touchdowns in the redzone. Jacksonville moved the ball freely within both 20-yard lines but became inept deep in Chargers territory when given appealing field position.

Jacksonville's timid and futile efforts in the redzone allowed the Chargers to mount multiple-score leads without issue. Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers was sensational, completing 29-of-43 passes for 300 passing yards and four touchdowns. San Diego only settled for a field goal once in the redzone, compared to the four by Jacksonville.
