The Jaguars finally took an offensive player in this year’s draft, selecting Arkansas quarterback Brandon Allen at No. 201.
Allen’s arrival breaks a string of five straight defensive players by the Jaguars drafted to start the weekend.
Allen, 23, threw for 7,463 yards, 64 touchdowns and 26 interceptions and completed 57.4 percent of his passes. He started 38 games for the Razorbacks. Allen is the Arkansas record holder in touchdown passes.
Allen played in the Senior Bowl for the Jaguars’ coaching staff.
The Jaguars have kept two quarterbacks on the active roster the last two years.
