LANDOVER, Md. — The Jacksonville Jaguars starters watched from the sideline on Thursday night, as their backups defeated the Washington Redskins second and third units, 17-16.
The exhibition game at FedEx Field was an opportunity for several bubble players to make their marks on both teams. The final preseason game turned into a stage for running back Corey Grant and defensive ends Cap Capi and Chris Smith to shine.
Grant was the most valuable player on offense for the Jaguars as he produced 74 rushing yards and a touchdown on just five carries. He may have locked down his roster spot with his impressive performance.
