The Jacksonville Jaguars announced on Friday that they have released veteran safety Barry Church, who will be subject to waivers. The Jaguars also activated offensive lineman Josh Wells from injured reserve, placed offensive lineman Josh Walker on injured reserve and signed defensive lineman Lyndon Johnson in a flurry of roster moves.
Church had already been benched in favor of third round draft pick Ronnie Harrison and was a healthy scratch last week. The writing was on the wall that the team was going to move on from the aging veteran this offseason, if nothing else but to save just over $6 million in cap space.
