Jalen Ramsey’s back prevented him from practicing for the seventh straight day on Friday and team officials have decided the injury is severe enough to keep him out of action when the Jaguars take on the Carolina Panthers on Sunday afternoon.
The news came as Ramsey was once again on the team’s injury report on Friday. The team also announced that rookie tight end Josh Oliver will not play although he has made progress from a hamstring injury he suffered prior to the preseason.
“Obviously Jalen’s [Ramsey] been working extremely hard to get back with this low back issue and it hasn’t been getting any better, so we’re going to make sure we do everything possible and get him to see a specialist this week,” head coach Doug Marrone said on Friday afternoon, following the team’s final practice before Sunday’s game in Charlotte.
