The best news for the Jaguars would have been no right knee surgery for rookie cornerback Jalen Ramsey.
But with that possibility nixed, the outcome of Tuesday morning’s operation — Ramsey could be ready for training camp — was the next-most ideal situation.
“That’s great news; that’s outstanding,” coach Gus Bradley said after receiving the news from general manager Dave Caldwell. “That’s what we had hoped for. We knew all of the scenarios. I’m excited for him.”
The Jaguars appeared resigned to Ramsey needing some kind of procedure. What they were hoping for is the initial diagnosis of a “small” meniscus tear was accurate and a more complicated surgery wasn’t required.
