Jaguars owner Shad Khan gave $100,000 in December to a political committee aligned with Mayor Lenny Curry, demonstrating that even though the election for mayor was eight months ago, Curry’s supporters haven’t let off the fund-raising gas.
Aided by Khan’s check and some other large contributions, the political committee Build Something That Lasts hauled in $289,000 during December. The donations for the month brought the running total to $450,800 since the political committee was formed in June.
Khan has emerged as the biggest backer of Build Something That Lasts, according to fund-raising reports filed with the Florida Division of Elections.
