The Jacksonville Jaguars have announced that their offices will be closed on Friday June 19th in remembrance of Juneteenth, an annual holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States.
The Jaguars were the first team in the NFL to organize a team led march and protest after the murder of George Floyd.
Running back Leonard Fournette organized a second march in what he called a “peaceful protest” the following week and former greats like Rashean Mathis have spoken out advocating for change in the face of police brutality, racial inequality, and social unrest.
