The Jacksonville Jaguars have promoted undrafted rookie cornerback Quenton Meeks from the practice squad to the team’s 53-man active roster.
To make room on the roster, the club released fourth-year wide receiver Rashad Greene Sr.
With injuries to two of the team’s five cornerbacks on the injury report, activating Meeks from the practice squad makes a lot of sense.
Meeks was originally signed by Jacksonville as an undrafted rookie this spring following a 39-game collegiate career at Stanford, where he totaled 121 tackles, 25 passes defensed and seven interceptions.
