The Jacksonville Jaguars have gotten mixed results from the running back position in recent seasons. On one hand, Leonard Fournette had two 1,000-yard seasons before he was released last year and James Robinson also surpassed the 1,000-yard rushing mark as a rookie last season. On the other hand, they ranked 31st in rushing touchdowns in 2020 and dead last the year before.
It’s true that Robinson had the most scrimmage yards (1,414) by an undrafted rookie in NFL history but the Jags needed more from the running back position, so they used the 25th overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft on Travis Etienne.
