After the 2014 season ended at 3-13, Jacksonville Jaguars general manager Dave Caldwell finally opened up the check book and started luring people in with big contracts.
For some players, like Green Bay Packers backup cornerback Davon House, it was a smart gamble on a player with potential. For other players, like defensive lineman Jared Odrick, there was decent return on a player who helped fill a gap for at least a year. Either way, the money had to be spent.
2015 looks to be another opportunity for Caldwell to lure talent to the Jacksonville area. The Jacksonville Jaguars have the most cap space for 2015 by far and that ‘mountain of cap space’ will be paired with eight draft picks for Caldwell to turn the underperforming defense around.
