Before the Jacksonville Jaguars devote their attention to preparing for their Week 1 matchup against the Houston Texans, they need to go trim down their roster to 53-man players on August 31. They already underwent two rounds of cuts. First, from 90 players to 85, and from 85 to 53.
August was a hectic month for the Jaguars. First, they shipped linebacker Joe Schobert to the Pittsburgh Steelers. They then lost rookie running back Travis Etienne to a season-ending injury and just recently, they traded third-year quarterback Gardner Minshew to the Philadelphia Eagles.
