Jaguars report card
Times-Union sports columnist grades the Jaguars against the Buffalo Bills based on performance, effort and game circumstances.
Offense – C-plus
The Jaguars didn’t take full advantage of opportunities the defense gave them. T.J. Yeldon had a nice rushing day (20 carries, 115 yards), but short-yardage back Toby Gerhart couldn’t get a TD on three attempts from the 1-yard line. Blake Bortles (13 of 29, 182 yards) had a pedestrian day until he led an 84-yard drive to win game, capped by 31-yard TD pass to a diving Allen Hurns.
Defense – A-minus
Bob Babich’s maligned unit had a breakout performance, getting TDs on back-to-back plays (Chris Clemons fumble return, Telvin Smith INT return) and turnovers on three straight possessions.
