JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jaguars fans, here's a reason to be optimistic about Dante Fowler's ACL surgery next week. According to a well-known orthopedic surgeon, 1st and 2nd round draft picks have a higher rate of success after ACL reconstruction.
Dr. Stephen Lucie, who was head team physician for the Jags from 1994 - 2000, says studies have been done on NFL players, and from a national standpoint, the incidence "of getting back to play is between 60 and 80 percent after ACL reconstruction."
However, Dr. Lucie says, "When they looked at players drafted in round one and round two all went back to playing.
