The longer it takes Jaguars defensive end Chris Clemons to return to full practice from an undisclosed “personal issue,” the more it raises suspicion outside EverBank Field about whether the 12-year veteran is angling for a training-camp breather.
Don’t think for a second that coach Gus Bradley, who also worked with Clemons as the Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator, hasn’t considered the impact on the Jaguars’ locker room.
He doesn’t want Clemons’ unusual situation — now a full week without participation in training camp — to create a perception with teammates that he’s receiving special treatment.
