JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --- When former Buffalo Bills Head Coach Doug Marrone left his post in Western New York early in the offseason, it left many shaking their heads.
Marrone had led the Bills to the team's best record since 2004 and just barely missed making the playoffs. In two seasons as head coach, Marrone secured a 15-17 record, a significantly more successful stint than that of his current boss, Jacksonville Jaguars Head Coach Gus Bradley (7-25).
Despite the relative success, Marrone decided to opt out of his contract, a clause brought on by new ownership. He eventually settled for a role as assistant head coach and offensive line boss in Jacksonville.
