Five observations on Week 11 in the NFL:
New England, Carolina need six more wins for perfect regular season records
New England beat Buffalo, 20-13, and Carolina routed Washington, 44-16, last week as both teams boosted their records to 10-0. Only 15 teams have started off 10-0 in the Super Bowl era and only two – the 1972 Dolphins, who played in the era of 14 regular season games – and the 2007 Patriots went undefeated in the regular season. Six of the 15 teams to start 10-0 won the Super Bowl although the 2007 Patriots, who lost to the New York Giants in the Super Bowl, weren’t one of them.
