EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. | More long catches by Allen Robinson? The Jaguars picked up Thursday night where they left off last year in that department.
But a functional running game? That’s what had general manager Dave Caldwell encouraged during the Jaguars’ 17-13 loss to the New York Jets in their preseason opener.
Running behind a first-team offensive line missing two starters, Chris Ivory and T.J. Yeldon each gained 26 yards on six and four carries, respectively.
“That’s what we envisioned when we signed Chris during the offseason and there will be more than enough carries for the two of them,” Caldwell told the Times-Union.
