Sarah Thomas, the NFL’s first full-time female official, can be seen but not heard these days.
Thomas was one of the four officials who’ve been at the Jaguars’ training camp and worked the scrimmage Saturday night at EverBank Field.
But the NFL didn’t allow her to give interviews when referee Pete Morelli addressed the media before the scrimmage and showed a video about the new rule changes and the points of emphasis this season.
When Thomas was allowed to give interviews after the league hired her in April, she said she didn’t realize there were no female football officials when she started working high school games two decades ago.
