Even without Julius Thomas, Jaguars coaches not worried about tight end depth

Jaguars tight end Julius Thomas was still running routes on Tuesday despite the cast on his right hand.

Thomas was in shoulder pads during practice wearing a red, non-contact jersey as he recovers from a broken hand sustained in Friday’s 23-21 victory over Pittsburgh in the preseason opener. He’ll miss the final three preseason games. The Jaguars are hopeful Thomas will be ready when the regular season opens against Carolina on Sept. 13 at EverBank Field.

Jaguars coach Gus Bradley was encouraged by Thomas’ progress, but also isn’t too worried about the void the offense must fill with Marcedes Lewis and Clay Harbor in the fold.
