PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia Eagles dropped former Gators quarterback Tim Tebow on Saturday and decided to snatch a former Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback to replace him on Sunday.
The Eagles claimed quarterback Stephen Morris off waivers, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Morris initially signed with the Jaguars following last year's NFL Draft. He spent all of last season on the practice squad and was the third quarterback during the this year's preseason. He was officially waived on Saturday during final cuts.
He will now backup starter Sam Bradford and Mark Sanchez.
Morris wasn't the only former Jaguars player to be claimed off waivers.
