With the Jacksonville Jaguars parting ways with Dante Fowler Jr., it’s safe to say he’s another case of the team’s struggles to hit on first-round picks. In fact, with the fourth-year pass rusher now off the team, only four of the six first-round selections Dave Caldwell has made since becoming the team’s general manager remain on the team. And when evaluating those four, it still isn’t pretty.
Earlier today, the Jacksonville Jaguars announced that they signed former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Landry Jones to the active roster. ESPN’s Adam Schefter later clarified that the move was insurance for Blake Bortles, who mysteriously has a left shoulder injury that he sustained from this past weekend’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles in London.
