Quarterback Brett Favre headed the eight-man class of 2016 voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame Saturday.
Favre, considered a virtual automatic choice, was voted in with four other modern era candidates, two senior candidates and one contributor.
The other four modern era candidates to make it were coach Tony Dungy, pass rusher Kevin Greene, wide receiver Marvin Harrison and offensive tackle Orlando Pace.
The two senior candidates to make it were guard Dick Stanfel and quarterback Ken Stabler. The contributor was former 49ers owner Eddie DeBartolo.
The winners were announced Saturday night in San Francisco after the selection committee held a meeting that lasted over eight hours.
